Friday Night (6/29) VIP Chess Pizza Party and Special Events: Enjoy fun, instructive chess, pizza, and refreshments at VIP Pizza (1201 Tower Ave, Superior, WI 54880). IM Bartholomew lecture, then Tandem Simul GM Andrew Tang / IM John Bartholomew vs The Community! Registration for the event is 5:45pm – 6:15pm and is $15 on site. Free pizza for all participants!
    

Open: Entry fee is $85 by 15 April, $95 by 20 May, $110 after May 20 online or onsite.
Prize fund:

1st $1,400, 2nd $700, 3rd $350; U2400 $250, U2200 $250; U2000 $250; Scott Kittsley Upset Trophy (based on 45 paid entries).

Reserve (U1800): Entry fee is $75 by 15 April, $85 by 20 May, $100 after May 20 online or onsite.

1st $1,000 + Anarae Schunk Memorial Trophy, 2nd $500, 3rd $250; U1600 $200; U1400 $200; U1200 Trophy (based on 45 paid entries).

Bantam (U1200): Entry fee is $50 by 15 April, $55 by 20 May, $65 after May 20 online or onsite. Prize fund:

1st $250, 2nd $120, 3rd $80 + Trophies for the top 1st-3rd Elementary students, 1st-3rd Junior high school students, and the top 1st-3rd High school students (based on 20 paid entries).

All the above: Five games, Swiss pairings. Time Control (note round 1 different from remaining rounds): Round 1 is game in 60 minutes plus 30 second increment; Rounds 2-5 game in 90 minutes plus 30 second increment. Registration Sat 9:00am-10:00am. Rounds: Sat 10:30-2-7; Sun 10-3. USCF membership is required. Hotel: Barkers Island Resort is just across the bridge from Duluth and sits directly on Lake Superior! All Rooms include two beds and windows that view the lake. Our block of rooms is held until May 29. After May 29, it will be extremely hard to find a room, so book early!
