2018 Iowa Individual-Play Scholastic Team Championships

The Iowa State Chess Association is pleased to host the 2018 Scholastic Individual Team Chess Championship open to all schools with Grades K through 12. This event is played as a traditional open Swiss format tournament. Players from the same school will not play each other. Team scores are the total of the top 4 results of players from each team. Where: Elks Lodge 522 Douglas Ave.  Ames, IA 50010 Time Control: Grades K-6: G/30, Grades 7-12 G/45, both with 5 second delay. Rounds: K-6: 5 Rounds, Round 1: 10 am, Round 2: 11:15 am, Lunch, Round 3: 12:30 pm  Round 4 & 5 ASAP.  Grades 7-12: 4 Rounds: Round 1: 10 am, Lunch, Round 2: Noon, Round 3 & 4 ASAP. Prizes: Trophies for Top 5 K-6 Teams and Top 3 K-3 Teams; Top 3 K-9 Teams and Top 3 K-12 Teams. Individual trophies for Top 4 Players of Winning Teams. Top 4 players' individual results added for team Score. Players’ scores that are counted toward placing in the K-6 section will not be counted toward the K-3 section prizes. Same for K-12 an K-9. Medals for first time tournament players. Entry Fee: $15 if registered by January 11 (Thursday); $20 after 1/11 or on site.  USCF Membership is required.   Memberships are available on site for $11.
