Format

Top 4 Teams enter two-round playoff, seeded via USCF tie breaks, to determine top four placements (first, 1 v. 4 and 2 v. 3, and then winners v. winners and losers v. losers).

Prizes

$12,500 PRIZE FUND sponsored by A|Priori, distributed as follows: $5,000-2,500-1,200; Top U2200, U2000, U1800 and U1600 (by average team rating): $300-200; Top Mixed, Female, U15, U13, U11 and U9 (based on average age of team) Teams: $200-100. Plaques to Connecticut State, Corporate and Family Team Champions. Prizes via USCF rules, except for Top Four placements, which will be determined via elimination playoff.

Bughouse Rules: Players can place pieces with checkmate and pawns on the 7th rank. Partners can help by suggesting actual moves, talking about the pieces they need and those which their opponents should not be given, BUT they may NOT point to squares, touch any pieces on their partner’s board or touch their partner’s board. Violation will result in immediate forfeit of the game. The Tournament Director’s decision is final. In rare cases, if it is impossible to determine which side won first, the TD may decide the game drawn. Unless made inapplicable here, standard USCF Blitz Rules apply.

Notes: Parking is available at this location for approximately 100 vehicles. It is requested that participants travel to the event in teams wherever possible. Additional information will be provided in pre-event mailing.
