2013 Knight Relocation Camp


WHO:  Open to all advanced and beginning chess students in grades K-12 with experience in at least 1 USCF rated tournament.  We will divide our camp into groups of students (by rating) who will study together in small groups in the morning, followed by whole group competitions in the afternoon.  MCA and USCF memberships required

Memberships can be purchased from Jenny during the week of camp.

 

WHAT:  Chess camp where students will interact with their peers and learn from accomplished instructors;  

WITH SPECIAL GUESTS, GM BEN FINEGOLD, FM SETH HOMA and GM BRYAN SMITH

Other instructors include Jenny Skidmore, Mike Smith, Jacob Fortuna and Instructional Aide Ken Long

 

WHEN:  JULY 14-18 – 9am-3:30pm; all students arriving before 8:30 or departing after 4pm will be charged a $10 after care fee

REGISTER BY 4/1 and pay $270;  REGISTER BY 5/1 and pay $280;  REGISTER BY 6/1 and pay $290;  REGISTER BY 7/1 and pay $315

$10 discount for each sibling when 2 or more are registered.

Payment plans are also available (make the first payment with registration; make remaining payments on time)

REGISTER BY 4/1 and pay $275 total; $95 due 4/1; $60 due 5/1; $60 due 6/1; $60 due 7/1

REGISTER BY 5/1 and pay $285 total; $115 due 5/1; $85 due 6/1; $85 due 7/1 

REGISTER BY 6/1 and pay $295 total; $125 due 6/1; $85 due 6/15; $85 due 7/1

 

Students should arrive between 8:30-9am every morning and be signed in by their parent or designee. 

We are happy to help organize carpools. 

Students should bring bag lunch or money for lunch. Choices include Panda Express, Quiznos, Panda Sushi, UGo’s (pizza).

Students will have snack and exercise time.

Students should depart between 3:30-4pm every afternoon and be signed out by their parent or designee.

Before care is available 7:30-8:30 ($10) (must sign up @ least 1 day in advance) and after care is available 4-5pm ($10)

 

WHY:  Students should have FUN and learn to think about chess in a variety of different ways

1.       Each student will receive a notebook of chess material for during and after camp

2.       Each student will receive a camp t-shirt

3.       There are opportunities to earn prizes each day

4.       Each student will compete in the end of camp rated tournament all-day Friday
