Prize fund: 1st $400, 2nd $200, 3rd $150. Plus $750 in additional Class Prizes for groups of at least 5 players (based on 60 paid entries).
Format: Seven games, Swiss pairings all one Open section. USCF membership required. Up to 3 byes allowed for any rounds.
Time Control: Games 1-5 Game in 60 minutes + 30 second increment. Games 6-7 Game in 75 minutes + 30 second increment. Forfeits 30 minutes from start of the round.
Schedule: Onsite Registration is Friday noon -12:45pm. Rounds: Friday 1pm-Potluck 4:30pm-5:30pm. Saturday 9:30am-12:45pm-4:30pm, Sunday 9:30am-1:30pm. Please stay for traditional cash award ceremony after the last round $10 fee for mailing prize!
Friday Potluck 4:30pm: Please contribute to the potluck. The organizer will supply hotdogs and water, but we need other entrees, side dishes, and snacks. If you don’t know what to bring, contact Dane Zagar.
Entry fee: $50 by May 1st, $60 by June 1st, $70 by July 1st, $80 by July 15th, $90 until 7pm the day before the event, $100 onsite. Players rated 2200 or above receive $30 off & players 2000 or above receive $20 off.

Hotels: There are two hotels many stay in near the tournament. One is Jackpot Junction Casino & Hotel and the other is the Morton Inn. There are also options in Redwood Falls, a short drive away.
Unrated/Fide Players who have never played a US Chess regular-rated tournament will be considered unrated. Unrated players with a FIDE or other national rating must disclose it to a TD. Players who have a rating history but are published as unrated will have their up-to-date US Chess rating used for pairings, prizes, and section eligibility.
