Spring Scholastic Tournament 

April 25, 2026

2 Sections K-12 and K-8 

Open to all Students grades K-12 

Location: Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Ormond Beach, 56 N. Halifax Dr Ormond Beach, FL 32176 

Entry Fee: $20 

5 Games: No Elimination everyone plays all 5 games. 

Game times: Rd.1-10:00 am, Rd.2- 11:15am, Lunch Break, Rd.3-1:30pm, Rd.4-2:35pm, Rd.5-3:40pm

Byes: One ½ point bye allowed must be requested before 2nd game and cannot be changed

Time Control: G/25d5 Each player gets 25 minutes to complete game.

K-12 Section (younger players are allowed to play up) Notation is Required. 

Prizes: Trophies for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place, Top 9th, Top 10th, Top 11th, Top 12th  

Top Unrated, Top 3 schools get team Trophies  

K-8 Section Notation is optional. Trophies for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, Top K-3, Top 4th-6th, Top 7th-8th, Top Girl, Top Unrated, Team top 3 schools.   

Tie Breaks: First place tie to be broken by 2 games of Blitz and Armageddon if necessary.  Other ties broken by 1. Modified Medium 2. Solkoff 3. Cumulative 4. Opponent Cumulative

This is an official US Chess tournament and all players will receive a national rating. US Chess membership is required and can be obtained at site
